Welcome to the Good Friday Online Experience
Good Friday is the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus. It’s interesting that it’s called “Good Friday” when it’s a day full of crucifixion and death. It’s called Good Friday because it’s a holy day - the beginning of God’s Rescue Plan: Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. There would be no resurrection Sunday without a dark Friday.
This year, we want to offer you an intentional opportunity experience Good Friday in a completely different way than you are used to. We’ve crafted videos to coincide hourly with the Crucifixion Day of Jesus. Starting at 6am and going until 3pm, and ending with communion together.
This is a spiritual journey along with Jesus on the day of his crucifixion. We will walk through the day hour by hour, remembering and experiencing the last hours of Jesus. We will release them on the hour throughout the day, starting at 6am. Follow along, check back hourly or whenever you can. Some videos will have me as a guide or teacher, and some will just have scripture for you to read. Some will be very short, some will be longer. They are designed to disrupt your day and to let you experience the crucifixion day of Jesus, Good Friday.
So open up your heart, allow yourself to be disrupted by the Holy Spirit. Imagine you are a spectator on that day, watching and experiencing Jesus’ sacrifice. My hope is that you find something new today, and your heart is open to Jesus, who is our rescue plan.
